What if all clocks on Earth suddenly fell to the ground and shattered? We’d be screwed!

I realized that we need to have a plan in place in the event that this doomsday clock tragedy ever strikes.

I think we should have an individual on standby, ready to count the seconds that pass at a moment’s notice if all clocks were to accidentally break simultaneously. Then, once we figure out how to reinvent a new clock (ideally a digital one, because who the hell can read an analog clock?), we’ll divide the number of seconds that passed by 60, then divide that figure by 60, then divide that figure by 24, then finally divide that figure by 365 to figure out how many years have passed.

Otherwise, our whole calendar will be totally compromised.

We’ll lose track of what the days are. Some people show up to work on Saturdays-Wednesdays, others on Tuesdays-Saturdays. It’ll be awful.

We need to implement my failsafe ASAP.

Unfortunately, if all clocks on the planet never actually break simultaneously and this plan never needs to be enacted, we’ll be paying some rando a salary just to count seconds.

Sometimes we all have to make sacrifices.

Until next time,
