On the LIRR trains, there are only 2 outlets, both of which are nestled within an inch of each other.
Today, a young woman was using both of them simultaneously.
Now look—I don’t use the outlets. You know why? Because I charge my equipment at HOME where people are SUPPOSED to charge their equipment.
Because of my pre-preparedness (kudos to me for my common fu*king sense—you go, Mike), I had no use for either of these outlets, so I had no reason to be bummed out by her using BOTH outlets on this crowded train where other people might want to use one of the outlets.
Despite this, I was angry. How dare she feel so entitled that she thinks she deserves BOTH the outlets? Isn’t that rather presumptuous?
I thought so, too.
You take ONE of the outlets. If the train is empty and nobody’s sitting near you, fine—go for the other one too.
Part of me wanted to unplug both of her chargers without telling her, just out of spite.
Until next time,
