We need alternatives to the lock and key concept.
There’s no way that we perfected the most efficient possible method of security that early on.
I think the best way to keep things safe is by binding them with steel chains. Then, rather than opening a simple lock with a tiny piece of metal (a stupid little key) that is incredibly flimsy and can break off in the lock itself, you would need an actual axe in order to physically break through.
This idea would enforce the “might makes right” philosophy that we all agree with, because only strong people would be able to axe-whack their way through these chains, and we all know that the strongest people are always morally right.
People could hire strongmen at a payment rate by the minute, because their only duties would be smashing through steel chains with an axe. Then, we’d finally have jobs for all these unemployed strongmen who are just trying to maintain those muscles.
Imagine a world where there are strongmen everywhere, roaming the streets and armed with axes.
I don’t know about you, but that’s a world I’d like to live in…
Until next time,
