Are all elementary school teachers, like, apple fetishists?
Is it acceptable to leave other fruits/veggies on their desks?
I’d like to leave a zucchini on a teacher’s desk.
Or a raw potato.
Or just, straight up, a full-sized watermelon—not cut or prepared in any way.
What would happen?
Is it customary for the teacher to actually EAT the apple brought in by the student during class? Is it considered “poor manners” to decline to eat the apple?
“Sorry, Johnny—I fu*king hate Granny Smiths. Go toss this in the trash for me, m’kay?”
We shouldn’t normalize students who bring their teachers apples all the time, because if every student brought in an apple, every teacher would have to eat WAY TOO MANY apples, and that’s the perfect recipe for an upset tummy.
Maybe, the students could rotate among the class regarding who brings in the apple. Then, another student can bring a knife to class every day. The class can toss around the knife and the apple to each other, each precariously slicing off a small piece of the apple. Everyone can present the teacher with a fraction off the apple, until the teacher has received the equivalent to a single apple.
Until next time,
