I called an elderly woman a “wench” today.

Don’t worry, she deserved it, but it still felt wrong of me to do, despite her having deserved it.

That’s messed up. Not the fact that I called her a “wench” (because that was completely warranted), but the fact that it felt wrong calling out an old person for their rude behavior, simply because she’s old.

Advanced years don’t make you infallible. If anything, they should make you MORE RESPONSIBLE for your actions. You’ve lived longer than most of us—you should have a firm grasp on what you can and can’t say or do.

Old people shouldn’t be allowed to say whatever they want. Think about it—old people say LOTS of racist and mysoginistic stuff, and we let them get away with it solely because “they’re old.”

Start holding old people responsible for their words and actions.

I want to see more old people in prison, if I’m being totally honest. Not all old people should be behind bars, because there are lots of great old people out there, but many old people DO deserve to be in prison.

Seriously though, I’d like to see at least a 30% increase in prison inmates over the age of 75 in the next few years.

Make it happen, youngsters.

The future is young (because the elderly are going to die out over time).

Until next time,
