Free verse poetry is just prose for borderline-illiterates and lazy people.
Really? You can’t follow meter or a rhyme scheme? Seriously?
You can’t call that poetry.
At the very least, you should need a meter to qualify your writing as “poetry.”
I bet most free-verse poets don’t even have a firm grasp on the fundamental rules of grammar.
Here’s the thing—I can’t tell if they’re dumb or lazy.
Which is it?!
Free verse is so incredibly dumb,
People who “write” in free verse are scum.
The least you can do,
Is write something new.
A meter is the bare minimum.
(This limerick took me 5 minutes—it may not be very good, but it follows both a meter and a rhyme scheme—so at the very least I’m better than every free-verse poet that ever lived)
