You know, not a single character in Game of Thrones has glasses?
The same characteristic applies to all the medieval crap—Lord of the Rings, other medieval themed movies/shows, etc.
I don’t understand.
Some of the characters NEED to have bad eyesight, speaking strictly in terms of eyesight statistics. Yet, not one character in any of these stories ever says, “oh, yeah—my eyesight is awful. I’m basically blind.”
61% of the world population wears glasses right now, which means at least 61% of the characters in these shows have undiagnosed sight-issues.
It doesn’t make sense how everybody in these medieval stories is able to just prance around like they have perfect eyesight.
Everybody in these shows is a good archer, too. If these medieval stories were realistic, they would be hitting their own people all the time due to blurry vision.
Instead, because this is “fantasy,” every single character has 20/20 vision.
If you’re going to do it, do it right.
Be realistic.
Make characters near-sighted and far-sighted.
We need obstacles.
