Yesterday, around 11:30 PM, I got very worked up.
I had about 5 people texting me nonstop, my inbox was flooding with urgent emails that needed immediate responses, I was getting a call every 30 seconds or so, and on top of all of this, I had 2 major tasks that had to be done for the following morning.
I was listening to upbeat music—relatively hard rock—in an attempt to keep my heart rate pumping, allowing me to continue working at mind-blowing speeds.
As all this was going down, I suddenly overflowed with emotion, something that rarely happens to me.
I was so incredibly uncomfortable.
So much was dependent on me. Without me, at least 10 people would be immediately inconvenienced. 10 different people. One person for each finger on my hands. Imagine if every single one of your fingers was judgmentally staring at you disapprovingly. That’s what I had to deal with.
I turned my phone on “Do Not Disturb.” I turned off my computer. I played gentle alternative music.
That’s when I finally broke down.
Heavy lies the crown.
Until next time,
