Have you ever noticed that the people you run into randomly are never the people that you’d actually like bumping into?
You never run into someone unexpectedly and have that exchange be a PLEASANT surprise; it’s almost always an unpleasant surprise, but due to certain social conventions that we’ve imposed on ourselves, we need to LIE and ACT like it’s a PLEASANT surprise to be polite.
Why can’t we ever accidentally bump into people that we’d actually like to see?
I feel like I always bump into acquaintances of mine from 3+ years ago that I totally recognize, yet have no discernable desire to share a conversation with.
There’s no solution to this problem (it’s really more of an epidemic than mere “problem”); it’s just a sad fact of life that we have to deal with.
Until next time,
