Why do we say that when stars explode when they “die?”

That seems quite dramatic, no?

It’s not like one star dies and all the stars around it are like, “Edward—no!”

Stars don’t have emotions.

I wouldn’t even go so far as to call their existential period a “lifespan”—why can’t we just call it a “span?” Is that too general? I guess there are too many kinds of spans. You got your lifespans, wingspans, timespans, etc. I know there are more “spans” out there, but I really don’t have time for this.

Stars don’t die, damn it.

Until next time,
