Planes don’t need seatbelts.
If turbulence is so bad that people would literally fly out of their seats were they not belted in, the plane is absolutely going down.
Now, if the plane actually does crash, the seatbelt isn’t preventing anything anyway.
If we went with each passenger being belted into an aluminum cocoon with a padded interior, maybe everyone would survive the crash.
Sure, run with the aluminum cocoon idea if you want, but lose the damn seatbelts already.
Nobody’s life has ever been saved by the seatbelt on a plane.
