Why does green mean “go” and red mean “stop?”
You know how many people would die if, one day, the President decided that, starting the next day, green would mean “stop” and red would mean “go?”
You’d think that making such an announcement 24 hours in advance would give people enough of a warning, but regardless of how much advance notice you give the public, you just KNOW that somebody’s not going to get the message.
Then…
BAM.
Just like that, you have a 19-car pile-up because ONE person wasn’t in the loop.
It’s really too late to change the meaning of traffic colors at this point. No matter how much time we give people, we simply can’t fully trust humanity’s ability to successfully comply with total uniformity.
Until next time,
