The first person to ice-skate was probably feared by many.
“Richard, what are you doing?!”
“Well, I put these knives on the bottom of my shoes, so now I’m gonna try to run on that frozen lake and see what happens.”
I can’t imagine how the first ice-skating experience could have been very different from this.
Then, everybody in the fishing village (it was obviously a fishing village considering they were that close to frozen water) was thinking about how Richard Ice-Skate was a lunatic for running on ice with shoe-knives.
Now, we revere Richard Ice-Skate, going so far as to name the sport after him (last name = Ice-Skate).
