The most embarrassing mistake one can make is accidentally “bless-you-ing” on a cough instead of a sneeze.
The worst person, however, is the one who corrects the “bless-you-er” by saying, “thanks, but it was just a cough.”
I have an idea; how about, don’t cough exactly like how sneezes sound? Then, people won’t go blessing you all day long thinking you’re a human sneeze-machine.
I bet you’ve perfected your cough to imitate the sound of the common sneeze. In so doing, you successfully trick innocent bystanders into throwing hundreds of unwarranted and unearned “bless-yous” at you all day long.
Going forward, we should eliminate all you people who correct “bless-you-ers” on a cough. Us “bless-you-ers” are just being good people, and you “sneeze-a-like coughers” are taking advantage of this kindness for free blessings.
We need to protect and defend us “bless-you-ers” at all costs.
We need to punish you “sneeze-a-like-coughers,” especially you “sneeze-a-like-cougher-correctors,” wherever possible. There should be consequences for your actions.
Until next time,
